Operational case study · CNA Turismo e Commercio

Three regions, one practical test linking businesses, tourism and new audiences

Lombardy, Lazio and Abruzzo provided three different settings for the same approach: start with real businesses, make their products and opportunities easy to understand, build usable content and lay the groundwork for engaging relevant audiences and networks.

The question was simple: can this be done with a manageable workload for businesses and the network, while adapting the process to very different places?

A test developed with the network

CNA Turismo e Commercio contributed to the regional connections that shaped the test, in different ways across the three settings. In Lombardy and Abruzzo, CNA’s coordination involved several businesses; in Lazio, it helped bring My Dolce Vita into the test.

Rome and Farfa/Sabina complete the comparison with two very different local settings. NeverEndingTourism handled the method and delivery within the Radici e Imprese framework.

Different places. Different businesses. The same method.

An established tourism area, a major city and a workshop in a village in Sabina, a distinctive production culture: three real applications show how the work adapts.

Garda–Franciacorta

Wine, boating, hospitality and local products in an established tourism destination. The cluster connects different businesses, including Mirabella Franciacorta and Bertoldi Boats, and makes them easier to explore together.

CNA Turismo e Commercio Lombardia facilitated coordination and business involvement. The story was also covered by ilNewyorkese.

Rome and Farfa/Sabina

My Dolce Vita in Rome and C’era un Tessuto in Farfa represent two very different settings. Where the destination is already well known, the focus is on making each business easy to understand; where it is less visible, the story also helps people discover the surrounding area.

CNA Turismo e Commercio Lazio facilitated My Dolce Vita’s entry; C’era un Tessuto adds a business in Sabina that is a member of CNA Viterbo e Civitavecchia.

Abruzzo Roots and Castelli

Ceramiche Simonetti, IDEART — Antonio Di Francesco and Arte Ceramica — Giuseppe Mercante share a dedicated gateway to Castelli ceramics. The MAVIVO profiles connect with the regional storytelling on Abruzzo Connections.

CNA Turismo e Commercio Abruzzo handled recommendations and selection for the new profiles, coordinated with businesses and forwarded content to them, supporting approvals as each profile became ready.

What the test produced

Businesses presented in clear regional contexts, verified and approved content, multilingual profiles and online clusters. These businesses became easier to discover, understand and present, including to international contacts. In Lombardy, the story appeared in diaspora media; in Castelli, it connects with the editorial ecosystem of Abruzzo Connections.

CNA and the regional network

CNA facilitated connections and business involvement in different ways across the regions. In Abruzzo, it also supported the forwarding of content to businesses and approvals as each profile became ready.

The Radici e Imprese operational team

NeverEndingTourism handled selection, content, language adaptation, links and verification. MAVIVO Experience hosts profiles and pathways that can also help engage relevant contacts.

The businesses

Existing materials reduced the initial information-gathering effort. Businesses checked the content, added information where needed and approved it before publication.

Existing materials and approvals as content became ready kept the workload for the network and businesses manageable: the operational team built the assets without asking the network to deliver the entire project.

From visibility to activation

The assets created offer more than visibility. They provide a foundation that can already be used to engage relevant contacts and choose, based on observed responses, which opportunities deserve follow-up.

The logic is simple: prepare the case well, bring it to relevant contacts and use what emerges to decide where to focus networks and resources.

Preparation

Businesses, products and collaboration opportunities are made clear and verifiable, defining what to present and which evidence supports it.

Activation

Cases can be brought to relevant audiences, media, associations and networks, observing which contacts respond and what they are looking for.

Decision

Useful responses are qualified, coordination with the most suitable network is considered, and decisions are made about where to focus relationships, resources and next steps.

Networks work better with a proposition that is ready to present

Chambers of commerce, ICE, CCIE, Unioncamere and associations are potential channels for access. The Radici e Imprese operational team, coordinated by NeverEndingTourism, prepares selected businesses described through verifiable information, a clear proposition, the desired outcome, the evidence and the type of counterpart sought. Audiences and networks are chosen according to the case and each organization’s role.

What we learned

The test demonstrates operational capability, adaptability and a method that can be transferred to different settings. It creates a concrete foundation for applying it to other regions and deciding, case by case, which opportunities to explore and where to engage networks and resources.

When a business, media or institutional opportunity emerges, the businesses described, the content and the evidence already provide a starting point.

From the test to regional replication

Three applications in very different settings show how the method can be transferred: it can be adapted to different supply chains, businesses and regional conditions without starting from scratch each time.

A rice or wine supply chain, a food district, ceramics workshops, a group of small and midsize businesses or a region with a strong diaspora can be starting points. Begin with the outcome the region wants to achieve and the businesses, clusters and materials already available, to clarify what the businesses can actually offer. Audiences, channels and networks are chosen accordingly.

Method and roles

Radici e Imprese provides the project framework; NeverEndingTourism handles the method and operational coordination. MAVIVO Experience hosts profiles and pathways. Abruzzo Connections is the editorial project promoted by the Association of Abruzzese People in Paraguay, with support from CRAM / the Abruzzo Region. CNA’s contributions are those described in each region; arrangements and availability for any activities are checked case by case.
